About Us

About Parker Developmental Disability Therapy

Our Journey

Founded in 2017, Parker Developmental Disability Therapy (PDDT) was established with a vision to become a trusted resource for all things related to developmental disability therapy. We believe that every individual deserves access to accurate and unbiased information to support their journey towards growth and development.

Our story began out of a passion to fill an information gap in the online space. We noticed a lack of reliable, comprehensive resources available for both parents and professionals working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disabilities. This inspired us to create a website dedicated to providing evidence-based knowledge and guidance.

Mission and Values

Mission: Empowering families and professionals through education and support to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering understanding and acceptance in our community.

Core Values:

  • Accuracy: We strive for excellence in ensuring all information presented is up-to-date, evidence-based, and free from bias.
  • Reliability: Our team dedicates itself to providing resources that can be trusted, promoting peace of mind for our readers.
  • Inclusivity: PDTT welcomes a diverse range of perspectives and experiences, ensuring our content resonates with all audiences.
  • Supportive Community: We aim to create a safe space where individuals and families can connect, share stories, and offer support.

Filling the Information Void

The internet is a powerful tool for seeking information, but when it comes to developmental disability therapy, we identified a critical need for credible sources. Many websites either provide outdated information or focus on a single aspect of therapy, leaving a gap in comprehensive guidance. PDDT aims to fill this void by offering a one-stop resource covering various topics, from understanding specific disabilities to exploring different therapeutic approaches and practical strategies for daily life.

Target Audience and Engagement

Our primary target audience includes:

  • Parents and caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities seeking guidance and support.
  • Professionals in the field of special education, therapy, and related services who require reliable resources for their practice.
  • Students studying in related fields who need access to current research and case studies.

We encourage active engagement through:

  • Comments: Readers are welcome to share their thoughts, experiences, or questions in the comments section below each article.
  • Feedback: We value your input! Please reach out with suggestions for topics you’d like to see covered or areas where we can improve.
  • Community Forum: Join our online community forum (accessible via our Contact Us page) to connect with others, share resources, and offer support.
